In all honesty, I initially signed up for CAP 105 because it is required for Grand Valley’s advertising and public relations major. That being said, I am legitimately interested in the class, mainly because I have very little experience in technology. I can properly work an iPhone and a Word document, but nothing really beyond that, even Microsoft Excel/Google Spreadsheets kind of scare me. With all of that out in the open, I am very eager and very willing to learn new things. I typically learn pretty quickly, so I’m not worried about learning new pieces of technology.

Not to sound like a total butt kisser, but I am very excited to see what I can learn from Professor Bower. It is so cool, and such a great opportunity to have a professor who has been working in the advertising and public relations field, and can bring real life, applicable stuff to the table. I’m really hoping to glean some information that I can use in my career someday.

So far, in just two days, I am very happy with the class. We have already learned how to use a professional website, Slack, and learned how to create our very own website using wordpress. In two days, scratch that, in two and a half hours, we have already learned two very important things. Obviously, I don’t expect the class to keep up this pace, but so far I am very happy with it.
